Lil Ray grew up on the Ft. Lauderdale Bat Mitzvah scene and relocated to Atlanta in 1999. There she discovered southern style beats and all night underground dance parties.
In 2008 she took up DJing on the side while managing a nonprofit community bicycle repair shop.
Lil Ray moved to Brooklyn at the end of 2009 and started DJing fulltime. Now she can be be found regularly at the Cove, Macri Park, Desmond’s, and Spike Hill, and she pops up on bills at Public Assembly, Lit Lounge, Sutra, and other venues around the city. She backs a few MCs including Kosha Dillz and Genesis Be. Ray (as her friends call her) enjoys working with Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, Garden of Dreams Foundation, and other corporate and nonprofit clients. Aside from DJing, she programs music for restaurants and creates custom mixes for performers of all kinds. She’s into all types of music, and she has an extra love for Hip Hop.
